Assessments Plus Coaching Services: DISC, Motivators, and EiQ

Everyone is different, and that's a good thing. Be the person who brings out the best in people.

Unless you work on a deserted island, you’re business is also in the people business. Using assessments properly can fast-track awareness and growth by providing individuals, teams, and organizations with valuable insights that inform decision-making, enhance communication, and drive continuous improvement.

Are your leaders burning bright or burning out?

Who benefits from DISC, Motivators, or EiQ Consulting? Everyone! It’s unfortunate that many consultants price their services out of reach for entrepreneurs and small business owners.  But not us. we understand the challenges facing entrepreneurs and small business owners, and we believe you matter. That’s why we’re committed to offering affordable solutions that deliver real value to help your business succeed. We value human relationships AND small business and know how understanding each other builds positive, harmonious work spaces, greater productivity, better communication, less conflict, and higher job satisfaction.

DISC is a highly reputable assessment that measures how a person does what they do by looking at four factors: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliance. It has a wide range of application and essential for anyone who works with people or wants to communicate more effectively.

The Motivators Assessment  measures why a person does what they do by defining and identifying their motivation. It measures the motivation (and strength) behind behaviors

Research indicates that Emotional Intelligence (EIQ) can be learned and can be seen as measurable differences directly associated with professional and personal success. Furthermore, it may be responsible for up to 80% of the success we experience in life. This assessment serves to heighten awareness of our own EIQ, identify relative strengths and weaknesses and a framework to build interpersonal and intrapersonal effectiveness

I gained insights about myself both as a leader at work and in personal contexts. For a season, I was working in an unhealthy work environment. I would tend to shut down when faced with problems. With coaching, I became more clear and confident about my value as a leader and team member. I now have a better understanding of how to clearly communicate and work through problems. I highly recommend Kerri whether it is to fine-tune your skills in the workplace, build confidence or move forward with healthy boundaries and communication!

Frequently Asked Questions

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfillment.

Great question. ADHD coaching is everything that life coaching is and more. If you have ADHD or suspect that you do, learning about your unique brain and it’s related challenges will support you in realizing that you’re not lazy, scattered, silly, or stupid. Understanding your wiring enables you to find working strategies that align with your strengths. You’ll gain confidence in being yourself and communicating effectively. My ADHD coaching program will provide knowledge and insightful awareness so that you experience ADHD not as a problem to fix but one element of your brilliance.

The International Coaching Federation explains it this way:

“Therapy deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict with an individual or in relationships. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past that hamper an individual’s emotional functioning in the present, improving overall psychological functioning and dealing with the present in more emotionally healthy ways.

Coaching, on the other hand, supports personal and professional growth based on self-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. Coaching is future focused. While positive feelings/emotions may be a natural outcome of coaching, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies.”

Coaching can be therapeautic in nature, but it is not a substitute for mental health therapy. If you’re in therapy, coaching can be a healthy and helpful compliment. I’ve worked with many clients who are also receiving professional help or counseling for issues such as anxiety.

Coaching isn’t a magic wand or quick fix. Every well trained coach knows that true and lasting change requires effort. As the saying goes, “We can’t expect to keep doing the same things and expect different results.”

Coaching is a partnership of two equals working together toward your best outcomes. I will create the designated space that feels open, judgement-free, collaborative, and curious so that you can explore ideas, thinking patterns, set goals, identify roadblocks, and even challenge patterns that aren’t serving you. I’ll share my knowledge and bring structure and support, helping you find your answers and way forward.

Coaching works for many women. My most successful clients do the following:

  1. Make appointments and show up ready to dig in whole-heartedly each session.
  2. Complete the action steps, assessments, or assignments that they agree to in the session, and if they get stuck let me know right away.
  3. Are open, transparent, and share what is working as well as what is not working.
  4. Try new things and set up external means of accountability when developing new ways of doing.
  5. Remind themselves that they are fully capable, resourceful, gifted, valueable, and create in the image of God.

I am asked this frequently, and after over nine years in coaching, I have some thoughts to share.

The coaching industry is not regulated, so you will need to do your due dilligence. Anyone can call themselves a life coach, even if they have zero training. If you encounter a coach who thinks that they know better than you and the ego of a “guru”, RUN AWAY.

Some coaches boast of being “certified” when their training consisted of going through two hours of recorded slides. Look for coaches who list their training school, and ideally a school that is approved by the International Coaching Federation. Look for coaches who continue learning and advance their skills and knowledge. A great coach is a constant learner.

Some coaches are highly trained, but not right for you. Coaching is highly relational, and it’s important that you mesh with your coach, build trust, and find the sessions enjoyable. Your connection with a coach may be the most important piece.

Look at past experiences. Does have past work or personal experience that may help you with your specific goals?

Ask lots of questions. Ask a potential coach all the details of what they offer. Ask about their strengths, ethics, and their “ideal client”.

If one coach isn’t a right fit for you, keep looking. She may be perfect for your best friend, but not the right one for you. A good coach wants you with YOUR right fit

The big question: What do you charge?

Coaching fees range depending on the coach’s area of work, training, experience, and offerings. Some charge by the session, but most charge by the package or monthly retainer.  I’ve found that many employers value coaching and will pay for a portion of coaching, especially when the coach is ICF certified.  I am committed to integrity and providing my highest level of services to every client, regardless of how many sessions we work together. Additionally, I will not dishonor someone by “selling a couple sessions” knowing that that a three month engagement is better suited for her goals and intentions. I speak with every potential client to help them determine if coaching is worth the investment (both money and time) and explore which coaching solution fits their needs.

I have a limited number of scholarships available for clients who have financial challenges.

A few clients have jokingly asked if I can coach their husband or child. More on that later. 🙂 But the answer here is… sometimes! I have coached men and teens. I’ve worked with ex-military who have similar challenges as ADHD due to PTSD and TBI.

I love working with interesting, dedicated, active, creative, outside-the-box individuals who want to work with their strengths, love life, and make a difference in their world. Most of my clients are women, but if I have an opening and we are a good fit, we can work together.
